Special Event at Gallery West

Gallery West is offering a 10% discount on any purchase made from July 23 through August 3, 2008. We have an outstanding selection of paintings, photographs and prints to choose from. The discount also applies to all bin items, cards and pieces from our 3D juried show.

Regular gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 6pm.

3D Juried Show

 A wonderful and diverse display of 3D art is on display at Gallery West in July.

The Gallery invited three-dimensional artists to enter their work to be considered for this exhibit and the selected entries represent a wide range of 3D media such as sculpture, pottery, woodturning, and jewelry.

The 3D Exhibit is in conjunction with a group exhibit by Gallery West member artists and will be on display until August 3.

Gallery West at Green Spring Gardens

The Friends of Green Spring Gardens Park (FROGS) present "A Walk through Nature", an art exhibition featuring the artists of Gallery West. The exhibit will be displayed in the beautiful Historic Manor House. Exhibit dates are June 30 - August 25, 2008.

Operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority, this 27 acre park contains demonstration gardens, boardwalks, a horticultural center, a library, a greenhouse, meeting rooms, a 1760 Manor House, native plant trails, scenic woods, and ponds. Tours, programs, lectures and demonstrations are offered for adults and children. The park has a newly expanded horticulture center to provide visitors with ideas for home landscaping.

Green Spring Gardens Park is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Saturday, and noon to 5pm on Sunday. Admission is free.

Directions from I-495: Take Exit 52B (Little River Turnpike East.) Travel 3.5 miles. Turn left on Braddock Road. Park entrance is on right.

From I-395: Take Exit 3B (Little River Turnpike West.) Travel 1.25 miles. Turn right on Braddock Road. Park entrance is on right.

Here's what some of our artists are up to this month:

Cindi Lewis has two oil paintings in the juried "Art in City Hall" exhibit at Alexandria, Virginia's city hall. The show runs until October 17, 2008.

Helen Barsalou's work "Resting in Provence" was juried into the July show at the Torpedo Factory.

Coming in August..."Trio"

"Trio" - Works by Heather Dilatush, Kathy Guzman, and Mike Marno - will be on display in the second floor gallery, from August 6 - August 31. Please join the artists for a reception at the gallery on Sunday, August 17 from 5:30-8pm. A Second Thursday Art Walk reception will also be held on Thursday, August 14 from 6-9pm. An All-Members exhibit will be in the main gallery.

On the second Thursday of each month,
the gallery participates in Old Town’s “Second Thursdays”
art walk and remains open until 9 p.m.
